Spirituality is an important aspect of human life. It is the rights of all free people to be able to explore their spiritual side in whatever way works best for them. While some people use drugs to seek God, and other use drugs to escape reality–the government should not try and control what people do as long as it does not harm other people. The sooner that the government realizes that it can’t control how people express their spiritual/religious beliefs the better. If people feel a spiritual calling to do something like drink ayahuasca the government needs to get out of their way and let them drink. The government should not second guess if someone has real spiritual intentions. A person’s spirituality should be a personal connection between the person and his God, and not something that the government should interfere with. The only thing that the government needs to do is make sure people don’t hurt other people.
